Our Studies

All of our studies take place on the Georgia Tech campus in Midtown Atlanta. The Child Study Lab is a bright, child-friendly room similar to what you might find at daycare or school, except there are a number of cameras and microphones installed throughout.

During a typical study, you and your child will visit the Child Study Lab for about an hour, during which an experienced member of our research staff will engage your child in a playful interaction. We might ask your child to wear a vest containing a microphone that will record his or her words and sounds. We might also ask your child to wear a small bracelet on the wrist or ankle that records movement and other body responses.

We are not actively recruiting children for any studies at this moment. However, we will be recruiting children who meet the following criteria later this year:

  • Infants and toddlers, age 12-24 months, who are not showing any delays in their development
  • Toddlers and young children, age 18-48 months, who have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder
  • Toddlers and young children, age 18-48 months, who have developmental delays without autism
